Privacy Policy for Chronos Media Player
Aether Chronos (“we,” “us,” or “our”) develops Chronos Media Player. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information when you use its music, video, audio-processing, theme, widget, lyrics, and wallpaper features.
Information We Access
Chronos Media Player may access the following information only to provide requested app features:
- Audio and video files stored on your device, including related media metadata such as title, artist, album, duration, artwork, and genre.
- Images or videos that you explicitly select for use as an in-app theme or device wallpaper.
- App preferences, such as playback settings, playlists, favorites, equalizer settings, theme choices, language, and widget settings.
- A random installation identifier used when requesting the online theme catalog and downloadable theme resources.
- Basic technical request information processed by our delivery providers, such as IP address, browser or device information, request time, and security-related logs.
How Information Is Used
We use information only to provide the features you choose, including scanning and playing local media; creating playlists, favorites, widgets, and notifications; applying audio effects; exporting audio; downloading optional themes; and applying selected images, videos, or animations as in-app themes or device wallpaper where supported by Android.
Your local music, videos, media metadata, playlist contents, and exported files are not uploaded to our servers for analytics, advertising, profiling, or sale.
Online Resources and Third Parties
Optional online theme resources are delivered through Cloudflare services. When you request online resources, Cloudflare may process technical information necessary to securely deliver the requested content. Some optional audio-processing resources may be downloaded from a model hosting provider when you choose a feature that requires them. These downloads are initiated by your use of that feature.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use advertising SDKs, behavioral advertising, or third-party analytics SDKs in Chronos Media Player.
Permissions
Chronos Media Player requests permissions only to find and play local music and videos, let you choose personal images or videos for themes or wallpaper, show playback notifications, continue requested media playback, control audio settings, apply wallpaper when you choose to do so, and show optional floating lyrics when enabled by you.
You can deny or revoke permissions in Android Settings. Some related features may no longer work until permission is granted again.
Data Storage and Retention
Most app data is stored locally on your device in private app storage. This includes preferences, playlists, favorites, playback settings, cached theme resources, and downloaded optional resources. You may clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data. Downloaded resources may also be cleared through available in-app controls where provided.
We do not create user accounts and do not maintain a server-side profile of your music library.
Security
We use encrypted network connections where available and private app storage for locally stored preferences and downloaded resources. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect information used by the app.
Children
Chronos Media Player is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, legal requirements, or our data practices change. The updated version will be posted at this public URL with a revised effective date.
